However, he refused to accept any such thing and said that he went there because Vedant’s family knew him personally and they asked him to go to the police station for Vedant to gather information about the case.

  • 300 Words Essay

As Vedant was 17 years old, he was not an adult for the judiciary. The JJB (Juvenile Justice Board) granted bail to Vedant on May 20, 2024. The court granted bail to Vedant on the condition that he write an essay in 300 words on the topic “ Impact of road accidents” so that he can realize his mistake.

Public Reaction To This Act

This act of JJB was criticized by people on social media as well on roads that it seems so funny to release a murderer on the condition of writing just an essay. He killed two people and also he was drunk while he was driving.

Due to this country-wide criticism, the Deputy chief minister of Maharashtra held a press conference about the matter and told people to take strict action against the accused.

On 22 May,  the orders of bail were changed into orders of observation till the 5th of June. In this period of time, Vedant’s parents were allowed to meet Vedant twice a week for one hour. This permission was later given by Vedant’s lawyer.

The Porsche Taycan which Vedant owned lacked the number plate on it as Vedant’s father didn’t pay rupees 1758 for the registration of the number plate.

Social organizations demanded the trial of Vedant as an adult in place of Juvenile because he was 17 years and 8 months old when he committed the crime.

Family Arrested For Accident Cover-Up

On 23rd May, Vedant’s grandfather Surendra Agarwal was arrested and he was questioned for putting pressure on the family’s driver to take the blame for the accident on himself. They called the driver to their home and made him stay there until he agreed to take the blame on him. The driver denied it.

Vedant’s father and grandfather were arrested under IPC section 365 for kidnapping and section 368 for keeping someone in confinement.

Vedant’s mother Shivani Agarwal replaced Vedant’s blood with the driver’s blood so that they could prove that Vedant was not drunk at the time of the accident.

Shivani was arrested on the 1st of June for replacing the blood samples and destruction of evidence. The doctors who were assigned for the testing of blood threw Vedant’s blood in the dustbin and used the driver’s blood for testing. They were Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Harnoor. Later they both were also arrested.

The Families Of Aneesh and Ashwini

Conclusion

Finally, through the above blog post, we can conclude that it was a very wrong decision to hand over the car to Vedant Agarwal when he was a minor. Not just Vedant, any minor should not be allowed to drive. Their families should understand this.

Also, never drive after consuming alcohol. Your decision to drink and drive puts your life as well as the lives of others at risk.
